Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need skates? No, we lend skates and have from child size 8 to Adult size 13, we cannot guarantee however that other's will not have borrowed all of one size.
Quads or in-lines? We are primarily a quad club, but welcome those who wish to use in-lines!
Do we do parties? We do not. But, if you wish to organise your child to bring friends (up to six children) we will make it as easy as possible for you to have a skate themed birthday celebration. Let us know in advance and we will allow you priority entrance, organise the skates upon arrival and will do a 'shout out' and play a favourite song dedicated to the birthday child in the session. You can also hire the party room from the leisure centre to co incide with the skate session if you want a seperate cake area.
How much does it cost? The general skate session is just £5 per skater, For the lessons, we charge £8 per session paid in advance of each short term so usually 5,6 or 7 weeks. the lesson skater gets to stay on for the general skate for no extra cost.
Can you pre-book? Not yet, but watch this space!
What do you need to bring? Every skater needs to have signed a waiver/temporary membership form that explains the risks of skating before paying for the session. This needs to be done once every academic year. After that we highly recommend everyone wears protective clothing, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards, all of which can be borrowed or purchased from the club, we also recommend helmets but do not provide these.
Do I need to stay with my child? Yes, when your child is confident we are happy for you to stay on site, maybe sit in the cafe area or in your car - please let us know where you will be, but while your child is new/not confident, we ask you stay close enough to be on hand when your child inevitably falls and needs a hug.
